Marissa Joy Ganz is a Native New Yorker, AEA, Triple Threat! Performing since the age of 4, Marissa has performed in cities all over the world including: New York/ Paris/ Berlin/ Munich/ Vienna/ Bologna/ Toronto/ Vancouver/ Chicago/ L.A/ Boston and San Francisco to name a few. Mentored by the late Madame Nenette Charisse (Teacher to Jerome Robbins, Gwen Verdon & Tommy Tune), Robert Tucker (Tony nominated choreographer and Bob Fosse's Assistant), and Diane Coupe' Frankel (11 Broadway Show Veteran), Marissa began her training at the Coupe' Theatre Studio in Rockland County N.Y and went on to the Conservatory of the Performing Arts at Point Park University. Marissa originated the role of SUSAN in Disney Theatricals World Premiere/ 1st National Broadway Tour of Disney's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL directed by Jeff Calhoun. She was also seen swinging the roles of DULCIE/ NANCY/ FAY and MONICA on the National Tour of THE BOY FRIEND directed by Julie Andrews. Marissa was seen on the European Tours of HAIR and THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLYOD WEBBER and regionally in HELLO DOLLY! choreographed by Mia Michaels. Regionally, Marissa has performed at the Paper Mill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Atlanta Theatre of the Stars, Westchester Broadway Theatre and Artpark to name a few. Marissa Most recently originated the title role in the World Premiere of SLEEPING CUTIE: A FRACTURED FAIRYTALE MUSICAL in San Francisco.
Marissa divides her time between N.Y and San Francisco where she is spending equal time "Behind the Table!" Marissa Directs/ Choreographs/ Teaches Master Classes and Workshops and Coaches children through professionals. Her work has been seen at the Berkeley Rep, Woodminster Amphitheatre and various other theatres and schools. Internationally, Marissa has directed Musical Theatre Programs in Southeast Asia. Students are now appearing on Broadway and National Tours! She is the Founder & Artistic Director of N.Y. Broadway Training Programs, Musical Theatre & Dance training for all ages.
A kid at heart, Marissa loves to laugh, smile, love, be silly, be a super proud aunt, frolic at the beach, play softball, recite every line from the Muppets Take Manhattan and aspires to continue to do backflips even when she is a little old grandma at 99 years young!!!
